The simplicity of the Denali 9-carat yellow gold snake chain is an inherent part of its charm. Made from recycled gold, its smooth form fastens with a unique barrel clasp which contains an internal spring, for a seamless finish.
The Denali chain was handmade by artisans in London’s historic jewellery district, Hatton Garden, using 9-carat yellow gold.
Its clasp is designed to function on a delicate spring, rather than the typical screw fastening. To open the clasp, gently push both sides towards each other and lightly twist to the left. You will feel the clasp release with the push of the spring. To close it, insert one end into the other and push until you feel a gentle recess. Push a little further and twist lightly to the right; it will spring into place. Please note that, for safety, all chains are designed to break if pulled with force.
To keep your jewellery in optimum condition, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place whenever it is not being worn.
Remove your jewellery before entering chlorinated water, using household cleaners which contain abrasive ingredients, or apply perfume, body lotions or other personal care products, as the chemicals present can tarnish the gold.
Clean your jewellery only as needed – when it is visibly dirty, or developing a patina. To do so, soak it for a few hours in lukewarm water and rub gently with a soft brush. Rinse under clean water, and blot dry with a cloth. A jewellery polishing cloth can be used after washing, but paper towel or tissues can scratch the precious surface of the metal.
It has become increasingly clear that we need to look after the earth better than we have been over past generations.
On our days off from running Gerbase. we are more likely than not spending our time in nature - on a beach surfing or climbing a mountain.
A responsibility towards nature is part of who we are, and something we want to keep focused on in every step of our value chain, to be able to make the best choices towards running a fully sustainable company, and to give our customer the peace of mind that they are not contributing to the demise of the globe. We aim to continue to improve our processes and to research new methods for improvements, and hopefully to also inspire others to search for a better, more sustainable future for our planet.
For our products to be as responsible as possible we always seek out the most sustainable and high-quality textiles and materials in the market. In addition, we aim to use recycled fabrics whenever possible for both synthetic and natural fibres. Where we use animal fibres we only use raw materials from animal friendly responsible sources and ensure traceability.
It is important that our products have longevity and that we extend the lifetime of the garments as much as possible. To that end our first step in sustainability is to develop products that aim to last a lifetime, not just a season. We are far from our goal to run a fully sustainable CO2 negative company, but we hope that these initial steps will be the foundation to build on during our journey towards best practices, and we aim to continue to be fully transparent with all our initiatives, what we are doing and how we can improve.
