The jacket is generously cut on the body and sleeves with strong shoulders setting a framework, finished with a notch lapel and two vintage button closure.

A limited number of 5 jackets have been created, bound by the finite amount of fabric in existence. The vintage Italian linen used for this piece was originally woven in Italy and unearthed by Gerbase.

All Gerbase. ready to wear tailoring is available to purchase as seen and with immediate shipping. For a more personal finish, we also offer a complimentary made-to-measure and alterations service. See below for more information or contact our London studio to book your consultation here.

To play with proportion, the linen Fitz Jacket and Sierra Trousers are available as separates in different sizes. Alternatively the Linen Suit can be purchased as one piece.

Composition

Made from 100% vintage Linen, sourced from a family run mill in Italy weaving quality fabrics since 1876. Today the 4th generation of the family continues in the tradition of fine tailoring fabric. Linen is a natural fibre and one of the most future friendly. Having long fibres creates strength and durability for a long life, it is also antibacterial and naturally moth resistant. Linen is known to perform well and withstand high temperatures which is why it’s the fabric of choice for globetrotters, explorers and adventurers’. The fabric wicks moisture (perspiration) away from the skin in exactly the same way as high performance sportswear does, with one major difference, it does so without holding bacteria. Linen improves with age as it becomes softer and softer and more pliable the more it is washed and worn.

Our Linen is made from European ethically sourced flax plant fibres which are fully biodegradable.

Care Instructions

To care for your tailoring pieces, lightly steam to remove creasing or hang outside in nature to refresh the scent. This piece can also be professionally dry cleaned if needed. Always store the jacket hung from a strong shouldered jacket hanger in order to preserve the natural structure and shape of the shoulders.
